Survivors can take their character, favorite creatures and items between the Island and the new Desert ARKs, making their Island-dwelling friends jealous with all of the amazing new items, structures, creatures and secrets they find in the Desert. Using what resources they can scrounge together, survivors can craft distinct new outfits and structures to beat the heat, and new tools to help them survive in this desolate environment. Scorched Earth takes ARK players to an entirely new land, composed of six unique, desert themed biomes – dunes, high desert, mountains, canyons, badlands and oasis – each with their own aesthetic and ecosystem. The biomes of Scorched Earth are filled with dangerous new creatures, and the intrepid survivor will find that many of them can be tamed. Stranded naked, dehydrated & starving in a vast desert, even the most seasoned ARK survivors must quickly find water, hunt for food, harvest, craft items, and build shelter to have any chance for survival. Nintendo’s cartridges are super expensive and they would’ve ported the entire game and it’s DLCs but a 32gb SD card is super expensive so they did not port it on that, instead they did it on a cheaper 16gb SD card and we’re going to port the DLCs soon after the game launches.Scorched Earth takes ARK: Survival Evolved players to an entirely new land, composed of six unique, desert themed biomes. You may ask “why did they remove the models and keep all of the assets in the game?”. You see, the maps are actually in the game but the models are removed. The game will freeze and lead you back into the Island map. I attempted to see if you can go into the DLC maps in Ark on Switch and the result is you cannot. What Studio Abstraction Games did was they minimized all of the meshes and even removed a ton of models but not the assets or coding that makes it function. For those interested in picking it up, the add-on has a price point. If let’s say Scorched Earth is removed out of the files, the game won’t function properly because there was many patches for Scorched Earth that affected also too other maps in the game. Studio Wildcard describes ARK: Survival Evolved's Scorched Earth expansion as a 'completely finished and polished' DLC pack. Basically Ragnarok, the Center, Aberration, and Scorched Earth are basically what make Ark work on Switch. Here’s the thing, when they were porting Ark: Survival Evolved to Switch, they had to keep all of the DLCs in or the game would not function properly.
